The I want to talk about it trophy won't pop.
I've played through 3 times right now for the 'I want to talk about it' trophy, with a guide and it still only shows 36/37 conversations in the stats screen. I seems to be effecting many people too.
Just update to what happen to my stats I play grounded mode
1. "in the hotel lobby" when I reached the bathroom I activated the conversation , the stats I not plus from 16 to 17. I restarted encounter so many time, but failed
2. "The hunt" when I reached the elevator holdout, I checked the stats before I activate the conversation the stats count normally, but I die then when the game started again I checked the stats, it just minus 1 from 29 to 28
It is look like the stats record problem to me. Please fixed this
Sorry for the long reply. I tried to be succinct.
Admin, thank you for your attention to this.
I definitely entered the RV for the collectible and other scavenge items. I recall that I did this before going to the airline ad, but it's been a while so I couldn't say for certain.
I have not deleted my profile data. I played through all on a single save. I missed an artifact in "Escape the City" and the airplane conversation as discussed, but I thought that it would be best to play on, finish the game, and go back afterwards via chapter select to unlock the "I want to talk about it," "It was all just lying there," and "Scavenger" trophies. I viewed the Statistics page for the first time, and was surprised to see that one of my shiv door unlocks had not recorded, and that my conversation total was short by two in addition to the missed airplane conversation.
Surprisingly, "Scavenger" unlocked part-way through "The Hospital." At that point I had the missed artifact in "Escape the City," two more artifacts in "The Hospital," and the comic book in "Epilogue" still to collect.
After finishing the game letting the credits run through, I went back to "Highway Exit" via chapter select. This became saved game 2. I had the airplane conversation. This brought me up to 35 conversations.
I then went back to "Escape the City" (created saved game 3 for this) to collect the missed artifact (no glitch here, I just missed it and walked through a one-way door). I did this and unlocked "It was all just lying there."
I created a few more game saves to revisit conversations that some have suggested are buggy. I'm not overwriting or deleting anything at this point, being especially careful about preserving saves 1 and 2, thinking that the 35 conversations that the game has recorded are tied to those.
I started a New Game+ and noticed that collectibles, conversations, and locked doors opened were all reset to zero. Again, I have not deleted or overwritten anything to this point. I checked statistics before and after conversations, and noticed that, starting with the two conversations in "Museum," not everything was recording this time through. I played on, hit every conversation as I went, and finished somewhere in the high twenties.
Are optional conversations and door unlock progress meant to be tied to saved game data? I loaded saved game 2, the saved game on which I reached 35 conversations, checked the statistics page, and was surprised to see the same (low) conversation total from my new game+.
A couple of days ago I deleted all of the game saves (but not the player profile data) from my system storage (I still have copies in my PSN+ online storage) and started an Easy difficulty speed run. I'm checking stats before and after each optional conversation and shiv door unlock, and so far everything is working as it should so far. It became apparent in doing so that progress towards the collectibles-based trophies is a part of our profile data, not a part of our saved game data. Outside of the benign "Scavenger" glitch, this seems to work a lot more reliably.
Thanks for sharing G_V_Black
For #1 these are two easily missed conversations. If you don’t enter the RV, you won’t get the airline conversation, and likewise if you quickly enter and exit the Dawn of the Wolf area, you can miss this conversation, too.
For #2 we're still investigating, but what you've provided is helpful. At any point did you delete your profile, or Initialize and then copy PS+ saves?
Also - do you recall if you chapter selected around after your first playthrough but before your second?
There are two types of faults at play here:
(1) The game never gives you the prompt to have a conversation. I had this happen at the Dawn of the Wolf billboard as well. I was able to reload the checkpoint, Ellie followed me to the advertisement, and the conversation prompt was given. I had this happen at the airline bus advertisement as well. I stood next to it, and Ellie walked right past without giving the conversation prompt. The checkpoint triggers as soon as she walks down the offramp, so I had to come back to this via chapter select after beating the game. Doing so got me to 35 out of 37 conversations.
(2) You have the conversation, but the game fails to record your progress. I watched my stats closely throughout my second play-through, and noted that my conversations with Tess and Ellie were not recorded. I hit every conversation again on my Survivor+ play-through, and my conversation stat is way low (28?). It probably didn't help that I was switching between save files while doing this to revisit some of the specific conversations referenced here and in other places. I have had every optional conversation at least 2-3 times.
I am confused as to how the statistics tracking is meant to work in game. I have not deleted or overwritten any save files. Each of my completed play-throughs was done in a single save file. Statistics show the same 28 conversations regardless of which save file I load. Is this how it is supposed to work?
I'm not that far in the game right now but I think I managed to miss a conversation too. If I remember correctly on PS3 there is a conversation before Joel and Ellie finds the tank which chases them through the bridge and half of the town. It was at the "Dawn of the wolf" movie picture. Now Ellie didn't want to escort Joel there so I couldn't talk about it.
I managed to get this one with some help from Reddit. The conversations I needed to repeat to get from 34/37 to 36/37 were #29 (Firefly symbol painted on the wall, it seems only the black logo painted on a wall to the left to the dorm entrance will work) and #30 (Checking a clipboard next to a pile of medical 'mumbo-jumbo', definitely did this the first time but it didn't seem to count, perhaps because I quit playing for the evening shortly after.)
Then I went back to the hotel and grabbed #16 and #17 which didn't help, but it was #18 that must have been giving me trouble because this time it popped. (It popped after part 1 of the three part conversation too.)
So if you're at 35 or 36 try hitting these ones gain, and leave the hotel until last!
please fix this ND....35/36 - 37 same here.
same i've finished the game on survivor and the trophy won't pop and the game plus page dosen't have a survivor + mode please fix this
I'm also having issues with this one. Replayed the game to try to get them again, managed to get up to 35 conversations, then after the conversation in Hotel (possibly the one about the tropical backdrop) I saved and quit after the cut scene where Joel trusts Ellie with a rifle. For my efforts I was awarded -1 conversations and I now have 34.
I am a fan of G_V_Black's idea of reducing the requirement to 34 or 35 as a catch-all for the few that are bugged.
I looked up the thread author on PSNProfiles and see that he now has all single-player trophies. If you're still following this thread, I'd like to know what you did.
One thing I would suggest is deleting/backing up all your Game Saves, excluding your Profile save and your Game Completion saves, Load your Game Complete save, and Chapter Select to some of the commonly missed/bugged conversations like:
*Darts, in Suburbs
*Tommy's Lookout ("You're new around here...") while crossing the dam in Tommy's Dam
There are known issues with:
-The conversation about David's men, in the Lakeside Elevator Holdout
(When you get there, allow some time to pass before activating the conversation.)
-The conversation about the Firefly graffiti in University.
(There are three of these. Be sure to trigger the one on the left of the opening to the powered gate under the dorms building.)
Try replaying the Hotel in Pittsburg (convo in bathroom) and outside (convo with hanging body) without quitting out. I had problems there where it wouldn't save to the server.
Most players encountering this problem end up stuck at 35 or 36 conversations. If you can't make the unlock of this trophy work 100% of the time the way that it is meant to, then please consider reducing the requirement to 35 conversations.
If the trophy unlocks early, it will be no different than the way the Scavenger trophy now works. This unlocked for me with three artifacts and one comic book still to collect (note that Scavenger has a higher completion % than It was all just lying there). A trophy that unlocks before you've earned it is >>>>>> than one that does not unlock when you have.
This is the same bug on PS3. I hope ND fix this asap
Also, since you asked:
I have a launch model PS4. I am playing the disk version. It was installed the day after release. My 1TB HDD is about half-full.
Same problem. I used the same guide that I used to platinum the PS3 version.
Also, in my new game plus my conversation progress is reset to zero in my stats. So far I have had two conversations that have not registered in my stats (one with Ellie and one with Tess just prior to exiting the museum).
Can you patch the game so that locked doors opened and optional conversations show up in the chapter select menu along with collectibles, etc.? It would be very helpful to know what the game thinks I missed.
