Variable Rifle/Grenade Launcher = Buy your wins
Last of Us is a uniquely thought out game, and the multiplayer is the best I've enjoyed in a long time. Run and gun just doesn't do it for me, but strategy and teamwork keeps me engaged. But with these new options to buy the best weapons, essentially buying wins and padding stats, I think I'm just about done. And that's too bad. The new weapons are so unfairly balanced, that I can't even have a fraction of the fun I used to have. Sure the argument will be "buy them yourself." No. That's not the point of LOA. If I want to buy crazy weapons and forget all of the things that made the multiplayer great to begin with, I'll just go out and buy any one of a thousand military shooters that are out there now. If you need to keep these weapons available, at least make purchasing them in game cost the user something or be worth more parts. They are such a huge advantage that there has to be some risk associated with getting them, otherwise (as the subject implies) you are simply buying your way to a win.
The variable has an unfair rate of fire compared to the semi auto
I do not agree at all. Both weapons require different types of skill to use them, one has an arc an prediction of the projectile when it is shot is something that requires skill. The variable rifle is just another gun. Much like the semi auto or the burst. Anyone who uses any of those three has a chance of doing damage to the opposition, its not buying wins its offering variety. If you want cheap and unskilled weapons the "tactical" shotgun would have to be the worst addition to the game.
