I have this same problem and NONE of the provided 'suggestions' do anything. I have rebuilt the database. I have reinitialized the console. I have reinitialized the console AND reinstalled the system software. I have even replaced the PS4's hard drive.

IT'S BEEN 2 GOD DAMN YEARS FOR CHRIST'S SAKES!

When are you going to admit that the problem is on YOUR end with your GAME?! Your game is broken, fix it!

Oh, and my copy is a digital copy, meaning I can't install the game without the latest 'updates' as digital copies come with the latest updates built in - which is a pathetic design flaw, I might add.

If you're going to release 'updates' that actually BREAK YOUR GAMES you should give us the option to download the game WITHOUT the update or allow us to 'roll back' the updates.

If you are still encountering this issue, you should attempt the following:

    Start playstation in Safe mode
    Rebuild database (option 5)
Once the PS starts, delete the game.
    Download the game again.

Please let us know your results.

Started doing it to me recently. I have tried every god damn troubleshooting option there is including changing my hard drive - the problem is software based, clearly a problem with the game itself. Yet Sony tell me I should pay them $100 to get my console 'serviced'....This is utterly disgusting and both Sony and Naughty Dog should be ashamed of themselves.

You know, I'm primarily an Xbox gamer and while I usually can't be doing with pathetic console warzzzz, in this case I'll make an exception - this would NEVER happen on Xbox. If anything like this ever DOES happen on Xbox, Microsoft either fix it within days or refund everyone's money, and sometimes they even do something extra to say 'sorry' after fixing it. Not once have they ignored and tried to bury the problem and pretend it simply isn't happening. I am utterly disgusted by Sony and their antics here.

Yeah, the Xbox One may be an inferior piece of hardware but at least it frickin WORKS...
