High VRAM usage can be caused by various factors. You can monitor your framerate and VRAM usage with the in-game HUD. These options can be found here: Options > HUD > Performance.
For general best practice, please ensure the following if you’re seeing high VRAM usage.
- Background applications that are GPU/VRAM intensive are closed while playing
- Your GPU Drivers are up to date
- Your game is updated with the latest patch (more info here)
If you are still seeing high VRAM usage after doing the above, you can try the following options.
- Adjusting Graphics settings that have Moderate to Major effect on VRAM may help. These settings include:
- Options > Graphics > Geometry Settings > Dynamic Objects Level of Detail
- Options > Graphics > Geometry Settings > Characters Level of Detail
- Options > Graphics > Geometry Settings > Environments Levels of Detail
- Options > Graphics > Texture Settings > Dynamic Objects Texture Quality
- Options > Graphics > Texture Settings > Characters Texture Quality

- Options > Graphics > Texture Settings > Visual Effects Texture Quality
- Options > Graphics > Texture Settings > Texture Streaming Rate

- Options > Graphics > Shading Settings > Screen Space Sub-Surface Scattering
- Options > Graphics > Post-Effects Settings > Depth of Field
